Slack time for a task is calculated to be the difference between the Latest Start date and the Earliest Start date and is shown as a shaded extension to the planned bars in the timelines. (In the Task Timeline, the slack applies to the task itself; in the Resource Timeline, the slack is for the resource’s work on the task.)

MacProject II calculates a resource’s allocations from the Earliest Start dates of tasks to which the resource is assigned.
